Vegas Bound?

I’m still thinking about heading to Vegas for the December gathering. Is any well adjusted blogger wanting to split a room? Depending on the costs of flights or availability of a free ticket for me, I am looking at Friday and Saturday nights with the possibility of Thursday and / or Sunday nights as well. Just leave me a comment or hit me up at BrainMc dot poker over on gmail.

Good Bankroll Management?

If you've got $11.27 left in your Bodog account, what's the best move? Why you throw 11 of that in the ring and play in game 1 of the next Bodog Blogger Series. I am usually successful in building my accounts back up when by back is against the wall. Not so much this time. Congrats to Skidoo for winning the first game. This gives him enough dough to freeroll the rest of the season.

It is a great series to play, I’m just not great in it. The fields are usually reasonable and the overlays are great. I completely bombed in it last time around and couldn’t boost my account after my initial deposit. I blew through that initial deposit and am trying to throw some more money back in the account. I have tried 3 places to put in another deposit for season 2 but the places Bodog is send me to don’t recognize the transfer company (ITT of America) they are telling me to use. Bummer. With socialized medicine on the horizon and my lack of ability to play on Bodog, I’m feeling more Canadian every day.
*UPDATE* I wasn't hearing either customer service lady correctly. When the second lady sent me the instructions by email, I noticed it should go to IPP, not ITT.

Congrats to Surflexus for taking down our 10 man home game last week. It was good to see at least one full table in our neighborhood again. We have been taking a hit on attendance this past year since our neighborhood tour ended in January. The recent crop of kids has been keeping the daddies busy and not leaving much free time to gamble away their college funds.

Spending Dimes Faster Than The Tigers Can Blow A Lead

OK, seriously WTF is wrong with Auburn in the second half of every game? While I don't think Tubberville is going to get fired, they do need to get their shit together for recruiting purposes. Alabama has come from nowhere under Saban and is going to start hand picking the high school talent.

The rebuy didn't go well. I pushed every hand for an hour straight. I was throwing dimes like I was Pauly with bills in the Spearmint Rhino. This totaled 76 rebuys and I was in the Dank position almost the entire time. My high water mark was about 26,000 for 1 hand. I lasted about 5 minutes after the 1st break when I ran my short stack with pocket 10s in to the pocket Aces of IslandBum1 in the big blind. At least I didn't have to stick around for the slow death and no sleep.

I played with APOSEC72's friends last Friday night, but didn't have any success. I hope to turn it around for some home game action this weekend since I haven't done so well with live play this year. Maybe I can have a good finish and try to go to Vegas for the December gathering.

I'll Take "Losing My Job for 19 Million" Please Alex

Talk about winning the lottery. Alan Fishman was just hired as WaMu's CEO 3 weeks ago and will walk away with almost $19 million dollars because the FDIC sold the bank to JPMorgan Chase. Unlike other golden parachutes, this guy didn't make the mess at WaMu, he was just the lucky bastard that didn't have to fix it and still got paid.

I saw this happen all the time when I worked at the cable company. We would get a new regional VP and he/ she would bring in their crew. Corporate would get impatient after 6 months or a year and bring in a new VP and all of the "guns for hire" would walk away with severance packages for $100 -250 thousand dollars and then they would go to the next gig for some other company. As long as one of them gets hired, ususally the whole crew stays employed. It's amazing that once you reach a certain point, you can get paid an obscene amount of money for failing. If all of this had happened in Japan, you would see CEOs and greedy bankers killing themselves left and right for dishonoring their company and failing their employees and country.
